All excursions are open to everyone. You do not need to be a registered Convention attendee to participate, but you will still sign up using the Convention form. Sign up for the excursions as part of General Registration.
EXCURSION #1: Tuesday Evening Social

Sold out Dinner at the Carousel Museum (5:00 PM to 9:00 PM)
In downtown Sandusky, housed in the old Post Office, is the Museum of Carousel Art and History (The Merry-Go-Round Museum) with a fully-restored, working Allen Herschell carousel, as well as other examples of the master carousel carvers' creations. A buffet dinner of chicken, beef, salad, potatoes, and dessert will begin our enchanting evening at the Carousel Museum. Ride one of the restored horses or other animals on the historic carousel and capture many exciting 3D photos. Enroute to the Carousel Museum, guests will be treated to a short narrated tour of historic Sandusky, founded in 1817, once an important economic center producing lime, railroad cars, carriages, wheels and tools. EXCURSION #2: Wednesday Evening Social

Sold out Wine Tasting and Dinner at Mon Ami Winery (5:00 PM to 9:00 PM)
An excursion to the historic Mon Ami Winery, located on Catawba Island, is planned for Wednesday evening. After a short 20 minute ride to the winery, guests will have an opportunity to taste several of the local wines and then be treated to a delicious dinner in the elegant restaurant. Dinner will be on your own and is not included in the price of the excursion.

EXCURSION #3: Sunday Evening Social

Cruise on the Goodtime (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM)
A short 15 minute bus ride due west from Sawmill Creek lies the historic town of Sandusky, situated on the Southern Shore of Lake Erie. The motor vessel Goodtime will take us on an evening adventure to enjoy the sounds, aroma, and feel of Lake Erie from the topside deck and enjoy a live personal narration. Along the way see Cedar Point, the top rated amusement park on the planet, view Johnson's Island, Marblehead Lighthouse (the oldest operational lighthouse on the Great Lakes), and more. On Sunday evening, July 18th, the Goodtime has been reserved to take us on a sunset cruise for three hours of fun. EXCURSION #4: Monday Full Day Tour

Marblehead Lighthouse & South Bass Island (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
The day begins with a half hour long bus ride to the Miller Ferry Dock on Catawba Island. After a leisurely 20 minute boat ride to South Bass Island, we will begin our tour of the island. Stops for photography and sightseeing may include the South Bass Island Lighthouse, the Crystal Cave, Heineman Winery, the Butterfly House, and the Antique Car Museum. After a narrated tour of the island, guests will be dropped off in downtown Put-in-Bay, the only town on the island, to explore the many restaurants, pubs, boutiques, and various historical sites. Lunch will be on your own. After leaving the island and returning to the mainland, we will stop at the beautiful Marblehead Lighthouse, located along the south shore of Lake Erie. Upon arrival, guests will be able to photograph one of the oldest operational lighthouses on the Great Lakes. We are hoping to arrange an opportunity for you to tour the lighthouse and climb to the top. After leaving the lighthouse, the bus will return to the Lodge at Sawmill Creek. This excursion is truly a photographer's dream come true.
EXCURSION #5: Monday 1/2 Day Tour

Cancelled Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge (9:00 AM to 2:00 PM)
For those who prefer a shorter excursion, a visit to the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, in the heart of the Lake Erie Marsh Region, will be just right. After leaving Sawmill Creek Resort by bus, sit back and relax for approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Wildlife Refuge, a local guide will treat you to a film and orientation to the refuge. Maps of the ONWR Complex will be given out and you will have an opportunity to spend then next 2-1/2 hours exploring the 7 miles of trails through the refuge and photographing the various forms of wildlife.
