What is the 3D-Con?

The National Stereoscopic Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1974, whose goals are to promote the study, collection and use of stereo photography. It has over 1,000 members. 3D-Con is traditionally the name of the NSA's annual convention, held somewhere different every year in the summertime.

This year’s convention will be held in Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is situated on Puget Sound, 30 miles south of Seattle. It is conveniently located near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. We will be staying at the beautiful Hotel Murano in downtown Tacoma.

We are still in the planning stages. Information will be posted as it becomes available, so check back often. Convention registration will be available in the spring, but hotel reservations may be made now by calling 877-239-0882. Ask for NSA 3D-Con room rates. See the Hotel Information page for more details.

What happens at a convention?

The convention has programming for the collector as well as the photographer. Among the highlights are the Trade Show, the 3D Theater, Workshops, tours, and Special Interest Group meetings. In addition, we hold slide and print contests and showings of stereo (3D) photography.

Room hopping (see glossary) is encouraged at the convention.

Note: At the present time, Washington state does not require that attendees to the convention show proof of vaccination against the Covid 19 virus, or wear a face mask. See details on our COVID-19 Guidelines page.
